Tuition

Tuition is payable monthly by direct debit from a checking or savings account or a Visa or eligible credit card. There is a Electronic Funds Transfer section of your registration form (see our registration page to download forms) that should be self-explanatory. However, should you have questions about tuition or policy matters, our staff is always available to answer questions 9am to 7pm Monday through Thursday in person or by phone.

Enrolling in the Academy

In order for you and/or your child(ren) to be enrolled in the academy, we must have a completed registration form on file - that includes tuition information in the form of a valid Visa or Mastercard number and expiration date. The registration process will be complete only when the initial registration fee has been charged to your card.

NOTE: There have been too many instances of parents claiming they will bring their child to a first class only to simply not show up without calling or any notification whatsoever. This after an instructor has set aside time in his/her schedule for the class. Therefore, class will only begin once every student is fully registered.

This policy is in effect throughout the academic year (September through June) as well as Summer session(s). Music Theory and AP Music Theory Test Preparation - per class fee (60-minute class)

There must be a minimum of two students to start a class. Details available for ABRSM, Certificate of Merit (MTAC) and AP Music Theory exam preparation upon request. Lessons generally begin in October and finish with the relative exam.



Tuition Policy

  • Form of tuition payment - The Anderson-Siprashvili Music Academy does not accept cash or personal checks as a way to pay monthly tuition. The academy accepts Visa and Mastercard and direct debit of checking or savings bank accounts. However, materials and merchandise can be paid for either by credit card, cash or check.

  • Receipts - Receipts are available by request.

  • Flat-rate tuition - Some months have 3, 4 or 5 lessons, however your tuition per month does not change except for December and August. Compensation is made for Monday students due to holidays such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, etc. - please phone or see tuition-specific information above for details.


  • Dropping a class - YOU MUST GIVE 30-DAY NOTICE TO DROP A CLASS. CLASSES MUST BE DROPPED IN WRITING USING OUR "WITHDRAWAL FORM" AVAILABLE AT THE FRONT DESK. WITHDRAWAL FORMS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE FRONT DESK.

  • Refunds - There are no refunds or transfer of tuition (paid lessons that were missed in one session/month do NOT apply to future lessons) for classes you’re scheduled to attend whether or not you attend the class, and there are no refunds for registration fees.

  • Registration fee - After the initial registration fee of $45.00, the annual registration fee of $22.50 will be automatically charged to your account in August, prior to the commencement of Fall lessons.

Missed Lessons

Make-up lessons/prorated tuition is offered for teacher Absences. If special circumstances/sickness prevent group lesson attendance, lesson sheets will be mailed home. Each student is allowed 2 make-up lessons per year - absence must be due to illness with parent verification. Make-ups are done at the convenience of the instructor's schedule and must be arranged through the front desk. For lessons canceled with less than 24hrs notice, no matter the excuse, make-ups will be arranged at the discretion of the academy. "No shows" - cases in which students have given no notice of not attending a lesson by Email or telephone at any point in time prior to the lesson - will not be eligible for a make-up lesson.

In the case of group lessons, if a student misses a class for any reason other than illness, an attempt will be made to place that student in a similar class on a different day in the week if possible. In any case, a lesson plan will be emailed or mailed home that will cover the missed lesson so the student does not fall behind.

In the case of either private or group lessons, the academy allows a maximum of TWO make-up lessons per student per year. If you have any questions, our front desk staff will be happy to discuss it with you.

Summer

Existing students will be charged continuously month by month throughout the summer (mainly July) according to the tuition information for his or her instrument as noted above. When a new student enrolls in the summer session, they will be charged a single summer session tuition plus registration fee. When the fall semester commences, new summer students will be paying tuition according to the tuition information relevant to his or her instrument as noted above. The academy staff will do what we can to accommodate family schedules but cannot promise to retain your/your child's class day/time from session to session.

IMPORTANT: Families registered before June 1st 2007 do not pay an annual registration fee as per their original agreement. However, like all academy families, they do pay full June tuition ($195) whether enrolling for the Summer Session or not. If not enrolled in Summer classes, or if they decide to "take a break" and are not continuously enrolled at any point throughout the year (as per the original agreement), there will be a $45 re-registration fee per student when returning for classes. For those who stay continuously enrolled throughout the year, there is no re-registration fee. For those enrolled after June 1st, 2007, there is no $45 re-registration fee when returning from a "break" for any length of time during the summer session, however there is the annual $22.50 re-registration fee per their original agreement.
